The immediacy and freshness of Cy Twombly’s art ripples through a new exhibition at Eykyn Maclean Gallery in New York with 11 works from the Sonnabend Collection. The gallery’s press release, courtesy Art Daily, notes: “The show is a rare opportunity to view works from several important stages in the artist’s life, including many which have never before been publicly exhibited.”
Considering Twombly’s art has been extensively exhibited globally at museums and galleries, the opportunity to fill in the gaps with works “never before … publicly exhibited” is always welcome.
