Phillips Collection Acquires work by Leo Villareal for Permanent Collection

Just announced: The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC has acquired Scramble (2011) by light artist Leo Villareal for their permanent collection.  Villareal also created a permanent installation for the National Gallery of Art titled Multiverse (2008), involving more than 40,000 LEDs. The artist is represented by Conner Contemporary Art, which is showing new work by Villareal through June 30, 2012.  Here’s a selection of additional works by Villareal.
